Fishing For Campers Only

Fishing is only available for persons that are booked to stay on the campsite. No walk-ins.

November 4th, 2023.

In the off-peak season (from now until the May BH), the reception itself is closed. However, fishing is still available for anglers that are currently staying on the campsite. In this case, please follow the instructions found at the reception area as to how to obtain and pay for fishing day tickets.

Fishing At Blacklands Summer 2024

Day Tickets

All anglers (including campers) are required to visit reception to purchase day tickets strictly before setting up on a swim.

Please note that fishing tickets are not available to buy directly from the warden, or to reserve online at present.

Swim Allocation

Swims are allocated on a largely first come first served basis on the day.

Fishing for campers

For campers looking to fish, it is not necessary (or possible) to reserve a swim in advance.

All that's required is to purchase your fishing day tickets at reception on the actual days you wish to fish. Swim availability is usually always adequate to accommodate all campers looking to fish on any given date.

Fishing for non-campers/day visitors

If you will not be camping, and don't have an existing arrangement in place with the fishing warden, please check with us before your planned attendance on 01273 493528, weekdays 8am—5pm.

Rod License

Each and every angler aged 13 and over is required by law to have their own rod license, which is the responsibility of the angler (or guardian) to obtain in advance of any fishing with us.

Licenses can be purchased either online here, or in person at the post office.

You will be asked to produce rod licenses when purchasing day tickets, and unfortunately, we will have no option but to refuse the right to fish if you cannot produce the applicable licences at that point

Opening Times

Regular fishing hours are from 7am to dusk daily.

Night Fishing

Night fishing is currently not available.

Day Ticket Charges

£12 Per Adult - up to two rods
£10 Per Junior - up to two rods

Juniors are classed as persons under 16 years old.

No part-day tickets.

Note most importantly that although the day ticket rate covers each paying angler to use up to two rods individually, that does not mean they can share one of those rods with another angler. Every angler (adult or junior) that will use a rod is required to pay the per person day ticket rate.

No Equipment For Hire

Note that we do not have rods or other fishing equipment available for hire or purchase.
